Spread the news

Gather supporters for the Admonition and ask them to add their signatures to it. We will maintain and update the list, and periodicaly update ELCA leaders with the number of signatures. Obtain a sign-up sheet for circulation.

Admonition study guide

There has been a study guide prepared to help you understand the Admonition. The Study Guide has two documents:

The leader’s guide provides some background information, suggestions for how to lead a study group and the discussion questions.

The study guide authors have intentionally not provided possible answers and responses to the discussion questions for two reasons: 1)People may reasonably disagree about many of the issues surrounding Called to Common Mission and the Admonition; and 2) the authors hope that more people in the church will engage in deeper theological reflection on the basis of the Scriptures and the Lutheran confessional writings as they consider issues and disagreements within the ELCA.

The authors encourage study group leaders to consult with their pastors, members of WordAlone’s Theological Advisory Board, and other ELCA leaders as they prepare to lead a study of the Admonition. Questions about the study guide may also be addressed to the authors:
